Church Blog for 20 February 2010
Welcome to the Church at Home Blog
Happy New Year, welcome to 2010 and I would like to extend a warm welcome to all people reading this may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you, protect you and send his ministering angels to watch over you as you go about this life he has given you.
The purpose of this blog is to keep people up to date with what is happening with Church at Home to lift up and glorify the name of Jesus Christ, to share the love and the gospel to a sad and dying world. It promotes his online church "Church at home" this concept was formed to help people that struggle through sickness, disability, or have had bad experiences with the church that stops them from getting to live church services.
We are non denominational and have from around the world, people that attend Church at home service that do go to and take active roles in Sunday Churches. Church at home is a bible based Church and preaches the gospel as it is, you will not find sermons here to the likening of all, but we teach it the way it was taught by the early church hard hitting to the point and at times confrontational.
Let us be Challenged in 2010 to live by the Rules of Holy Living!
Are you prepared to take the challenge and live a holy life? The bible makes it quite clear what we are to do. We are told in Colossians 3:1-17 about the Rules for Holy Living......
1 You have been raised up with Christ. So think about things that are in heaven. That is where Christ is. He is sitting at God's right hand.
2 Think about things that are in heaven. Don't think about things that are on earth.
3 You died. Now your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 Christ is your life. When he appears again, you also will appear with him in heaven's glory.
5 So put to death anything that belongs to your earthly nature. Get rid of your sexual sins and unclean acts. Don't let your feelings get out of control. Remove from your life all evil longings. Stop always wanting more and more. You might as well be worshiping statues of gods.
6 God's anger is going to come because of those things.
7 That's the way you lived at one time in your life.
8 But now here are the kinds of things you must get rid of. You must put away anger, rage, hate and lies. Let no dirty words come out of your mouths.
9 Don't lie to each other. You have gotten rid of your old way of life and its habits.
10 You have started living a new life. It is being made new so that what you know has the Creator's likeness.
11 Here there is no Greek or Jew. There is no difference between those who are circumcised and those who are not. There is no rude outsider, or even a Scythian. There is no slave or free person. But Christ is everything. And he is in everything.
12 You are God's chosen people. You are holy and dearly loved. So put on tender mercy and kindness as if they were your clothes. Don't be proud. Be gentle and patient.
13 Put up with each other. Forgive the things you are holding against one another. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you.
14 And over all of those good things put on love. Love holds them all together perfectly as if they were one.
15 Let the peace that Christ gives rule in your hearts. As parts of one body, you were appointed to live in peace. And be thankful.
16 Let Christ's word live in you like a rich treasure. Teach and correct each other wisely. Sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing with thanks in your hearts to God.
17 Do everything you say or do in the name of the Lord Jesus. Always give thanks to God the Father through Christ
Then in Colossians 3:18-25 we are given Rules for Christian Families....
18 Wives, follow the lead of your husbands. That's what the Lord wants you to do.
19 Husbands, love your wives. Don't be mean to them.
20 Children, obey your parents in everything. That pleases the Lord.
21 Fathers, don't make your children bitter. If you do, they will lose hope.
22 Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything. Don't do it just to please them when they are watching you. Obey them with an honest heart. Do it out of respect for the Lord.
23 Work at everything you do with all your heart. Work as if you were working for the Lord, not for human masters.
24 Work because you know that you will finally receive as a reward what the Lord wants you to have. You are serving the Lord Christ.
25 Anyone who does wrong will be paid back for what he does. God treats everyone the same.
So over the next few weeks let us expand on what this means so that we can apply it to our lives if we are not all ready do
3:15 The peace of God should act as an umpire in our hearts. If in any think we are in and out, we should ask ourselves the questions: does it make peace? Or would I have peace in my heart if I went ahead and did it? This verse is especially helpful when seeking guidance from the Lord. If the Lord really you to embark upon a certain course of action, he will most assuredly give you peace about it? If you did not have the peace, then you should not proceed. As is being said "darkness about going is wide about staying."Christ called us to enjoy his piece, both as individuals and also in the church. Do not overlook the importance of the later part of this verse: to which all say you were called in one body. One way in which we could enjoy peace would be to live in isolation from all other Christians. But this is not God's purpose. He has set solitary in families. God's intention is that we should gather together in local churches. Although living with other Christians may try our patience at times, it God in his way can develop virtues in the Christian's life which he could not produce in any other matter. So we should not shirk our responsibility in a local church, nor give them up when we are annoyed or provoked. Rather we should seek to live comparatively with our fellow believers and help them in all we do and say. And be thankful. This refrain is repeated over and over again in Paul's writings. There must have been a good reason: the must consider the thank and we believe that it is-important not only to persons spiritual life, but for his physical welfare as well. Doctors found out what the Scriptures support through the years-that a cheerful, thankful attitude of mind is beneficial for the body, and the worry, depression, and complaining spirit are definitely harmful to one's health. Usually we think of faithfulness is something that is determined by our immediate circumstances, the poor here sure knows that it is the grace to the: David. We are responsible to the painful. Of all people of the world we have the most of which to give the facts compare Deuteronomy 33:29. The plot is not in the lack of subject matter but only in our selfish hearts.
3:16 There is disagreement as to how verse 16 should be punctuated. There was no punctuation in the original language of the New Testament, and the meaning of such a verse 10 following: but the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and at monasteries and one another; in Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Via has already sections so this verse. First we are to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly. The word of Christ refers to the teachings of Christ is found in the Bible. As we saturate our hearts and minds with his holy Word, and seek to walk in obedience to it, and the word of Christ is really at home in our hearts. The second thoughts is that in all wisdom we should be teaching and admonishing one another Every Christian has a responsibility to his brothers and sisters in Christ concerning this matter Teaching has to do with doctrine, whereas admonishing has to do with duty. We owe it to our brethren to share our knowledge of the Scriptures with them, and deceit to help a practical and godly counsel. When teaching and admonishing are given in wisdom, they are more likely to find acceptance in when we speak with force but unwisely or without love. The third thing is that with Psalms and humans and spiritual songs we should sing with grace in our hearts to the Lord. Sounds describe those he inspired utterances which are found in the book by that nine, which were some is part of Israel's worship. Hymns, on the other hand a generally understood as songs of worship and praise addressed to God the father on to the Lord Jesus Christ for example Jesus! The very thought of thee with sweetness fills my breast; but sweeter far by his face to see, and in thy presence rest.
These hymns and uninspired in the same sense as the Psalms. Spiritual songs refer to religious poetry describing Christian experience. And molestation of this might be found in the works
Oh what peace we often forefet, oh what needless pain we bear, all kinds we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Using the various types of songs we should sing with grace or Thanksgiving in our hearts to the Lord all this point it might be well to say that the Christian should use discernment in the type of music he uses much of the so-called Christian music of today is like roughly. A great deal of the music is utterly contrary to Scripture and still more is so similar to the words pop and rock that it is a discredit to the name of Christ. Verse 16 is very familiar to Ephesians chapter 5:18, 19 where we read: and the not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody your hearts to the Lord. In Colossians 3: second domain the main difference is that instead of saying be filled with the Spirit will says: let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. In other words, being filled with the Spirit and being filled with God's word up by the living joyful, useful, fruit lives. We shall not be filled with the Spirit unless we are saturated with God's word; and the study of God's word will not be effective unless we yield up our innermost being of the control of the Holy Spirit. Family not being conclude that to be filled with the Spirit means to be filled with God's word? It is not some mysterious, emotional crisis that comes in the life, but rather day by day feeding on the Scriptures, meditating on them and not paying them and leaving by him.

Church at home Prayer Group
Church at Home Prayer Group Tuesday evenings 9.00 pm meets weekly to pray for the Church its members, their loved ones, our programs, and whatever else God brings across our path. A Church without prayer is like a fish out of water, they will not survive it is the hard work that is put into pray weekly as a Church and individually through the year, and the humility of its people that has caused us to see people come to Christ, and healing achieved all for the glory of Jesus.
We will be meeting in the room for 90 mins to follow the format we are following now. Then we will be opening up a private room which will be by invite only where we can meet the calling that God has put on Church at home for 2010 by bearing one another's burdens. It is a place where the masks are taken off, where people can share what is needed to be shared so that healing and refreshing will come. To participate in this room for it to be the success I know it can be takes everyone to commit to not gossiping and to prayer for the people that share their struggles. I expect people that are willing to share in this way will be healed and blessed in mighty ways.
Remember this is the engine room of the Church and I know it will be a blessed time. So please come expecting your prayer to be answered and watch God work in a mighty way.

Be Anxious for Nothing; Think These Thoughts
1Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brethren, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.
Be United, Joyful, and in Prayer
2I implore Euodia and I implore Syntychem to be of the same mind in the Lord. 3And F7 I urge you also, true companion, help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Cleent also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. 4Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:1-6

Question Who wrote the book of Esther and what year was it written?
Answer The author is unknown, though no one knows for sure. Scholars have speculated about every possible author: Job (though he was not an Israelite), Elhu, Moses, Solomon, a desire, Ezekiel, or Barach the prophet Jeremiah's friend. The culture and historical settings seem to reflect the times of Genesis 12-50 the second millennium BC some think the story of Job was passed down orally from generation to generation and only way to put into writing.
